IT Skills
Word
For this project, I created a tutorial to assist my students with logging on to our classroom website. Specifically, the tutorial deals with my content area (Spanish) and offers step-by-step instruction to access the virtual classroom. Once there, students have the opportunity to view course documents and also access enriching websites. Word documents, once converted to pdf documents, can serve a large variety of purposes in the modern language classroom. Click here to view the tutorial.

Integration Skills
Word
I designed a lesson plan called "Getting to Know You" to integrate Word into my classroom. Students interview each other and then create a summary of their partner in Word; this is a great way for both the teacher and students to learn about the class while practicing all four mode of language. For the lesson plan, click here.

Access
I used Access as an organizational tool. Specifically, I took inventory of my classroom, including all teacher resources, multimedia, and decorations. I noted the condition, location, and borrow/return date of each item. Access is an effective way to maintain an inventory, and there are various templates to help you do so. Access
Students created a database based on the Geocultura sections found in each chapter of their textbooks. They used access to keep track of the specific characteristics of each nation; at the end of the semester they had a reliable resource sheet of Spanish-speaking countries. Click here to see the plan.

Excel
For this assignment, I created a spreadsheet to measure student participation in class. I graded each assignment individually with a rubric, then entered the grades accordingly. The average was taken from seven grades. Afterwards, I created a graph comparing the average participation grades for the marking period. To view the spreadsheet and graph, click here. For this assignment, students interviewed their classmates to find out what they did over Spring Break. Afterwards, each student compiled his/her results in an excel spreadsheet. The final step will be a visual representation in the form of a chart or graph in an attempt to explain what teenagers do in their spare time. Click here to see the plan.
Desk Top Publishing
My classmates and I wrote brief biographies, which we then converted to PDF files and complied into a binder. Click here to see the finished product.

Desk Top Publishing
To integrate Desk Top Publishing, I designed a lesson plan based on the story The City Mouse and the County Mouse. Students read the story and wrote an editorial from either the city mouse or the country mouse's point of view. Afterwards, they converted the document to a pdf and we compiled our submissions to create an editorial page. To view the lesson plan, click here.

Power Point
For this assignment, I recreated a Power Point I used last year when teaching Spanish culture. I am particularly proud of this assignment since I incorporated many new elements, including embedded video and hyperlinks. To view the presentation, click here.

For this assignment, students imagined working for an international travel company. Each group researched one Latin American country with regards to cultural traditions, tourist attractions, current events, and role of government. Afterwards, the group presented their information in a PowerPoint and made their recommendation to the Board. Click here to view the lesson plan with attached handouts.
Telecommunication
For the telecommunication assignment, my group and I read three articles about learning and teaching according to the research of Donald Schon. We then discussed our thoughts online through the website Tapped In. To see a summary of the chat, click here.
For the second part of the Telecommunications assignment, my group held an ongoing discussion on Blackboard. This discussion focused on the 21st Century Skills and their implementation in schools. To see a summary of the discussion, click here.
